Let’s Get Started

Step-by-Step:
- Turn off all WiFi routers & range-extenders except your ISP Modem/Router
- Unpack your Kibosh MT6000 & power-on
- Attach the included Ethernet cable (follow the image above):
- one end plugs into Kibosh 2.5G WAN port
- the other end plugs into your Internet Service Provider (ISP) modem/router LAN port
- Power cycle both the MT6000 & your ISP modem/router
- Now, from a PC, look for and connect to the new WiFi ‘Kibosh‘ and join using pw: abcd0001
- Confirm WAN IP # –
- Browse to http://192.168.10.1
- Do you have a WAN IP (see image above #5)?
- Yes – your Kibosh is online, proceed to step 6 ๐
- No – repeat steps 1 -5 until you have a WAN IP #
- If there is no WAN IP # @ 192.168.10.1 go to Troubleshooting
- Go back and complete setup starting at Step #3 in the Setup Guide
.
Troubleshooting:
NOTE: you are not replacing the ISP equipment – the Kibosh plugs into your existing ISP equipment.
NOTE: don’t worry about updating firmware until your Kibosh is online (i.e., when it has a WAN IP).
Preface: before troubleshooting, open http://192.168.10.1 – the MT6000 Admin Page will tell you where the issue is.
Issue #1: after completing steps 1 – 3 in Quick Setup (at least 2x), there is still no WAN IP # showing @ 192.168.10.1
This is how 192.168.10.1 should look ๐

But this is what you see instead – WAN IP says Connected, but no numbers ๐

Cause: This means your ISP modem and the Kibosh MT6000 are not communicating.
Solution(s):
Scenario 1: I have my own private WiFi router that I was using before trying to install the Kibosh.
Solution: Put the old WiFi router back, and attach the Kibosh MT6000 to that (replace Modem in the setup diagram above with ‘private WiFi router’).

Scenario 2: I have a WiFi router provided by my ISP that was attached to their modem/router – I took this out to install the Kibosh.
Solution: Put the old WiFi router back, and attach the Kibosh MT6000 to that (replace Modem in the setup diagram above with ‘private WiFi router’).

Scenario 3: I have a single ISP provided modem that is also my WiFi router (aka modem/router device).
Solution: If the normal setup process is not working (Steps 1-5 above), and you’re unable to get a WAN IP to show at 192.168.10.1 – call your ISP Tech Support and ask them to put their modem/router into Bridge Mode.

This is a normal setup and they will know what you’re talking about. It only takes a few minutes.
When they are done – power cycle the Modem (now in bridge mode) and the Kibosh. You should now have a WAN IP at 192.168.10.1, and your Kibosh Portal is online.
Still not working?
