How to Setup Parental Controls

For Android Google / Samsung phones and tablets.  

4  Steps to a Kid Safe Android Device

Step 1) Install the KiboshVPN to ensure the Internet is Kibosh safe at all times over any connection (Carrier or WiFi). 

• On-demand ensures the Internet will not work without KiboshVPN being connected. 
• PIN Code ensures the KiboshVPN cannot be turned off without approval. 
• The VPN Status Monitors online / offline status in real time, which is easily monitored in your Kibosh Portal.

Step 2) Install Family Link App > on all Android Devices

App Control will ensure nothing is installed without your approval (like Tor, or free VPNs). 

Step 3) Configure Family Link Settings on Kids device

Step 4) Configure Family Link Settings on the Parents device 

Begin here…Parental Controls Setup

Step 1) Complete – if you’re reading this then you already have a KiboshVPN.

Step 2) Install the Google Family Link App on both the Kids & Parents Devices.

Step 3) On the Kids Android Device…

1. Open Android Settings
2. Go to Google > (show all services) > Parental Controls
   1. Setup Parental Controls
   2. Select the Kids GMail Account (which should already be logged into this device)
      1. Choose Supervise this account
   3. Next
   4. Enter parents gmail (the gmail of the parent that will supervise this device)
   5. Next
   6. Enter parents gmail password
   7. Next 
   8. Next
   9. Next (you must be an admin for this device)
   10. Allow Supervision > ALLOW
   11. Controls on Google Play
   12. Next

Step 4) On the Parents Android Device…

1. Open Family Link
   1. You should see your Kids device(s) listed with a Lock option.

At this point – 

1. When the Kids Android tries to install an anything from the Google Play App Store they will need your Approval.
