How to turn the WiFi off on your Comcast Xfinity Modem
The most effective method is to enable Bridge Mode, which disables the private Wi-Fi network.
XB10 Modem:
You can do this by logging into the admin interface at 10.0.0.1, navigating to Gateway > At a Glance, and clicking Enable for Bridge Mode
Step-by-Step:
- Connect your PC to the Xfinity Modem’s WiFi
- Open a browser to http://10.0.10.1 — you should get the Xfinity Modem Admin Login page
- Look on your XB10 for the Router Admin Login ID & PW
- Once logged in…go into Gateway > At a Glance and enable Bridge Mode
- Save changes
- Reboot (power-cycle) your Kibosh MT6000
- Log into your Kibosh Portal – wait for Internet: Protected
Your Kibosh Router is now the only WiFi gateway to the Internet.
NOTE: Hidden Networks: Bridge Mode may not (sic: will not!) disable the public Xfinity Hotspot or hidden WIFI’s used by Xfinity; these often require separate steps by disabling via your Xfinity account settings, or by contacting customer support.

If you buy your own high-speed modem (Example: NETGEAR Nighthawk DOCSIS 3.1) you can return the Xfinity modem to Comcast – AND SAVE $15 PER MONTH off your monthly Internet bill.
You will then own your own private Modem and WiFi Router and have complete control over the internet you’re paying for.
TIP: You can always re-enable the Xfinity Modem’s original WiFi settings by resetting the modem (look under the device for the reset button).
