WiFi Mac address randomization is a “privacy feature” recently implemented by our friends at Google, Apple, Microsoft aimed at making our devices more anonymous and therefor harder to track & hack (but not from them?).
It causes a WiFi MAC Address to change every few weeks.
This MAC Address must be unique among all devices, and it is used to by all routers locate and track devices connected to it.
Kibosh uses this MAC to track and monitor connected devices – so when the MAC Address randomly changes…this device will show up as a new device in your Portal. It’s very annoying – you will want to turn this off eventually.
We only have to do it once.
Solution: how turn off MAC Randomization:
NOTE: You do not HAVE to do this as it will not affect Internet Security in any way.
- You only have to turn it off once on each device.
- You only need to do this on the Kibosh’s WiFi (not all of them).
