How to block YouTube –
There are four states of YouTube that can be enforced on a per-device, or Profile level:
Default = no filtering
Safe Mode = no comments on any videos
Strict Mode = only child level content allowed + no comments
Blocked = youtube.com will not work.
NOTES:
- Strict Mode is very effective and probably blocks too much.
- You can also Schedule YouTube Safe Mode /Strict Mode or YouTube Block.
- In our testing, Default YouTube does not contain pornography. It’s the video thumbs that give the impression there is porn to be had (i.e., clickbait).
BLOCKING YOUTUBE
Q: Can I block YouTube?
A: Yes you can block YouTube with your Kibosh, BUT many websites link to YouTube and these (many websites) will not work properly if you BLOCK YouTube – so expect complaints. Generally we recommend, for long term enforcement, enforcing YouTube Strict Mode instead.
