Filters are how we can control access to any website or app.
There are two types of Filters:
- Presets
- created by Kibosh
- can be scheduled
- Custom
- created by you
There are two ways to apply Filters:
- Via a Profile
- Direct
Caveats:
- You cannot block YouTube, or Google
- How to control YouTube- go here
Step-by-Step via Profile:
- From your Kibosh Portal…
- Go to Profiles
- Create a new / or edit an existing
- Add a Device(s)
- Tap Filters
- Block as needed
Troubleshooting
Unless the device(s) the Filter Rule is applied to is mobile with VPN…the Filter Rule block will be immediate.
If it’s mobile with VPN add 5 min delay.
Troubleshooting Steps – In Order:
- CLEAR CACHE!
- From the device go to https://test.kibosh.com – if you get Success proceed..
- If you do NOT get a Success, then you have software on this device that is tunneling through the Kibosh’s Internet Security
- VPNs, Malware apps with ‘proxy’ features, legacy parental control type apps, etc
- Double-check your Filter Rule is applied to the correct device
- Make sure set the Filter on the correct device(s) – maybe block on a second device
If you still cannot get the site to block please forward the site to support@kibosh.com and we’ll try to replicate the issue.
There some are sites that side-load onto CDNS that will also need to be blocked. We’ll tell you if that is the case.
