How to change the WiFi name (a.k.a., SSID) on your Kibosh.
- Log into your Kibosh Portal
- Go to Advanced > Settings > WiFi Settings
- 2.4Ghz — this is the primary WiFi with long range
- Enter Name & Password
- NOTE: do not use apostrophe
- Enter Name & Password
- 5Ghz — this is for high bandwidth applications (like HD TV), but with a short range
- Enter Name & Password
- NOTE: do not use apostrophe
- Enter Name & Password
- Save Changes
- 2.4Ghz — this is the primary WiFi with long range
TIPS:
- Disable 5Ghz unless you know you need it:
- A) it’s a strong WiFi signal that you might not want to be exposed to (in addition to 2.4g).
- B) it’s another WiFi that you will need to manage
- C) it’s radius of coverage is much smaller than 2.4g (so you’ll have to switch between 2.4 / 5 often).
- D) opinion: I’ve never seen any evidence 5g is faster than 2.4g, from general daily use perspective.
- Disable MAC Randomization
- This is important – you will need to do this at some point

TIPS:

- Third – it’s range is much smaller than 2.4g (so you’ll have to switch between 2.4 / 5 often).
- Fourth – I’ve never seen any evidence, nor has my experience proved to me it’s faster than 2.4
