Change the WiFi (aka SSID) Name & Password

How to change the WiFi name(s) on your network:

1. Log into your Kibosh Portal
2. Go to Advanced > Settings > WiFi Settings
   • 2.4Ghz — this is the primary WiFi with long range
     • Enter Name & Password
     • 5Ghz — this is for high bandwidth applications (like HD TV), but with a short range
       • Enter Name & Password
       • Save Changes

TIPS:

• See How to Schedule WiFi to shut off
• Disable 5Ghz unless you know you need it:
  • First – it’s a strong WiFi signal that you might not want to be exposed to (in addition to 2.4g).
  • Second – it’s another WiFi that you will need to maintain join / re-join, etc.
  • Third – it’s range is much smaller than 2.4g (so you’ll have to switch between 2.4 / 5 often).
  • Fourth – we’ve never seen any evidence in the real-world 5g is faster than 2.4g
